Password Issues
NOTE - in the past we had a mechanism to automatically synchronize passwords between the U of U systems and Huntsman systems, but because of a change in architecture and password policy, we no longer have this system in place.
If you are an external Huntsman systems user and need to change your password, there are a variety of ways to do so:
You can utilize the
HCI Self-Service Password Portal.
In the first box, enter your username (typically your UID, with the U, ie u6020010
In the second box, enter your "old" (current workstation) password.
In the third box, enter your desired "new" password. It will need to follow the requirements listed below:
10 characters long
(at least) 1 upper case and lower case letter.
A number
or
symbol
The password must not have been used in your previous 3 password resets.
In the fourth box, confirm your desired "new" password – this is to protect against any typos locking you out of your account.
Connect to the HCI-REMOTE shared desktop system and initiate a password change there from the Ctrl+Alt+Delete menu.
